As nature's light dims in the onset of fall, we can
cultivate our inner light through the practise of yoga. Join in an
exploration of the yamas and niyamas as a source of inspiration and
guidance into life-enhancing choices on and off our mats. With
their origin in the eight-fold path of yoga, the yamas and niyamas are
eight ethical guidelines for living. Through asana and
meditation we will look at one of these per week from the tantric
perspective that informs Anusara Yoga (R). All-levels are welcome.
I started to practise yoga with NoraMaskey in January of 2001. It is throughmy studies with Nora that I was introduced to the practise of AnusaraYoga®. I am an Anusara-Inspired™ yogateacher registered at the 200 hour level with Yoga Alliance. I have taught yoga for two years. I teach classes at Unihealth Group, and I ama yoga therapist with Innovative Health Group. Anusara Yoga® is a modern style of hatha yoga which draws us intoalignment with our intrinsic good nature using physical postures, breath andmovement. I feel better when I practiseyoga: I am more relaxed, more fun-loving, and generally make more sense tomyself and to others. Yoga is a way ofrealizing and celebrating we are one. Yoga is not an abstract concept separate from us or an experience ofremoving ourselves. Instead, yoga is the experience of connection and relating to ourselves in our lives in richer andmore meaningful ways. A good way tounderstand yoga is to give it a try.
