Class Descriptions

Flow – Saturday Sessions 1-2pm: August 21, 28, September 18,25, October 2, 9

These classes investigate the link between Pranayama (breath) and Asana (movement). Various postures will be explored with an emphasis on alignment and inner connection. All levels welcome.

Restorative - Saturday Sessions 2-3:30pm: August 21, 28,September 18, 25, October 2, 9

Restorative/Yin focuses on long holds of postures with the use of props. This class will openup the energy lines of the body and is designed to rejuvenate the mind, body and soul. All levels welcome.

Naaz Ali – Bio

Born and raised in Calgary,Alberta, Naaz realized her passion for dancing and movement through recreational classes as a teenager. This passion for various genres of dance unfolded itself over time, and at the age of 22, Naaz auditioned for and was accepted into the Program of Dance at the University of Calgary. Since then,she has trained with many influential artists and graduated with her Bachelorof Arts in June 2010.

Naaz has also delved into the lesser known aspects of dance and movement. She has explored yoga and dance as a tool for personal cancer recovery. Enlightened by her experience, she became more attracted to yoga and worked on deepening her practice. The benefits were immense and Naaz decided to pursue yoga as a profession. She received her 250-hour yoga teacher training at Yoga Passage in the Sivananda tradition. Naaz brings balance and a deep compassion to her teaching; she has an innate understanding of the body, both anatomically and spiritually. Her goal is to help her students to realize their true nature and live their lives to their fullest potential.
